PROPOSAL FOR FUNDING TO REDUCE SMOKING

The Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation Task Force in West Virginia is asking the state for more than 16-million dollars to help reduce tobacco use.  Dr Susan Morgan who is leading the cause says that tobacco use should be considered a chronic disease and therefore treated in the same fashion.  A portion of the proposed funding request from the state’s Rainy Day Fund would be used for a Tobacco Cessation Quitline.
