HOGAN VETOES REDISTRICTING MAP; VETO OVERRIDDEN

Governor Larry Hogan vetoed the recently-approved congressional redistricting map, but lawmakers in Annapolis have overridden that veto.   He said the map, quote, “makes a mockery of our democracy.”  The House of Delegates voted in favor of it earlier this week, after lawmakers rejected an amendment from Republicans to replace the map with one created by a non-partisan commission appointed by the governor.  Following House approval, Governor Hogan posted a statement saying lawmakers passed maps with the worst gerrymandering in state history.
