Nearly 12-hundred people are hospitalized with COVID-19 in Maryland. The Department of Health says 1173 people are being treated in hospitals including 12 pediatric patients. That’s the highest number of patients since April. State officials and health experts continue to remind residents to get vaccinated and boosted to help stop the spread of the virus. Dr. Chuck Callahan, with the University of Maryland Medical Center says there’s a greater likelihood of containing further variants with a higher number of vaccinated people.
