MARYLAND COVID CASES SPIKE ONE DAY AFTER RECORD HIGH

Maryland is reporting another spike in COVID-19 cases.  The addition of more than four-thousand new infections comes one day after the state set a single-day record of over six-thousand new cases.  But, state officials say some of the latest positive test results reflect data collected during an outage caused by a cyber attack on health department computers.  The numbers show the state’s seven-day positivity rate rose by a half-percent to over 12-percent.  Coronavirus hospitalizations jumped by 73 to more than 14-hundred patients, including ten children.
