The Pennsylvania State Health Department has reported a sharp drop from the record number of COVID cases reported on Friday. Saturday, the latest day for which statistics are available, cases totaled about 9800, down more than three-thousand from Friday when the total reported was over 13-thousand. Friday had also exceeded the previous one-day high of 12,900, set on December 5th of last year. Hospitalizations totaled a little under 44-hundred and the number of people in intensive care units also dropped, down two to just over 900.
