Pennsylvania Governor Wolf is throwing his support behind bills in the state legislature that eventually would raise the minimum wage to 15-dollars an hour. In addition to the $12 minimum wage, SB 12 would also eliminate the tipped wage and allow local cities and towns to implement higher minimum wages. The bill in the House is called One Fair Wage and is House Bill 345. A report released last spring showed more than 1 million Pennsylvanians would get a raise from a 12-dollar minimum wage, while nearly two million would benefit from a 15-dollar one. The report shows Pennsylvania’s 7-dollar and 25 cents an hour minimum is the lowest wage in the region.
