UPMC DISCUSSES NEW COVID-19 DRUG

UPMC has received a limited number of doses of a new monoclonal antibody cocktail, which could help those who are exceptionally vulnerable to the effects of COVID-19. The drug, from AstraZeneca, is called Evusheld, and is intended for people 12 and older, who weigh at least 88 pounds and have moderate to severely compromised immune systems. The UPMC system expects to received additional, limited shipments in the coming weeks. However, it may take months to give the medication to all eligible patients.
