Maryland has reached an agreement with two-state unions that will pave the way for some major pay increases. The agreements were made with the Maryland Professional Employees Council Local-6197 as well as the AFSCME Maryland Council-3. Thousands of state employees will receive a one-percent cost of living adjustment and a-thousand-dollar bonus. Any employee that didn’t receive a pay increase in the past fiscal year will get a two-percent make-up increment as well. Several unions representing law enforcement officers, B-W-I Airport firefighters, and others also reached agreements last month for pay increases.
