NEWS-TRIBUNE PURCHASED BY W.V. NEWS

WV News, which owns several newspapers across the Mountain State, along with the Garrett County Republican, has purchased the Mineral Daily News Tribune. The effective date of the sale is May 1st. A spokesperson for the parent company says they are committed to keeping local staff in place. In addition to the Mineral paper, WV News is also purchasing the Jackson Star and Jackson Herald in Ripley, West Virginia. All of the publications are supported by digital sites. The company also operates “wvnews.com,” a statewide website.
