Three people were taken to UPMC-Western Maryland Saturday evening, following the crash of a small plane in Grantsville. The pilot, 62-year-old Baltimore resident Robert Greensberg, reported that the Piper single engine plane, experienced icing problems, which caused a lack of control. The plane crashed into a wooded area on Spring Ridge Court. The plane had departed from Wabash, Indiana, and was on its way to Martin State Airport in Middle River, Maryland. Two female passengers, ages 15 and 50 were also taken to the hospital. There were no other injuries. The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration is conducting the investigation.
