BERLIN MAN LEADS POLICE ON HIGH-SPEED CHASE

Berlin, Pa. resident James Gary, Jr., is facing numerous charges, after leading police on a high speed chase that ended with him crashing into a police cruiser. Gary, who had an active warrant for failure to appear, was driving near the 800-block of East Main Street, when he sped off and turned onto Berlin Plank Road.  Eventually a police cruiser crashed into Gary’s vehicle; he tried to run, but was quickly apprehended. Police found a baggie with white residue along with other baggies, which suggested drug trafficking. He refused a sobriety test, but did admit to smoking marijuana. Gary is now in the Somerset County Jail, as he couldn’t post bail.
