The CDC says cases of sexually transmitted disease dropped during the pandemic, mostly because people were more worried about being tested for COVID. Now that COVID’s not so top of mind, Midstate health centers in Pennsylvania say they’re seeing an increase in the number of cases for STDs as more people resume testing. A spokesman for Planned Parenthood also says some viruses can be transmitted by non-sexual contact, too, including kissing a loved one or family member, sharing contaminated food and borrowing unclean towels.
