The Allegany County Board of Elections needs judges for both the primary election on July 19th and the general election in November. Diane Loibel, the county’s election administrator, says about 80 judges are needed for the primary and 340 for the general election. Judges work at various polling places throughout the county, checking in voters, instructing them on the use of voting equipment, and answering questions about the process. Judges are compensated for both training and on Election Day. If you are interested in serving as an election judge, you can call the Election Board at (301)-777-5931.
