NAOMI JUDD HONORED

Wynonna Judd honored her late mother Naomi Sunday night as the duo was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Naomi passed away Saturday at the age of 76.

Wynonna spoke off-the-cuff for about four minutes and said, “I feel so blessed and it’s a very strange dynamic to be this broken and this blessed … but though my heart is broken, I will continue to sing.”  Her sister, actress Ashley Judd, also spoke and added, “My momma loved you so much, and she appreciated your love for her and I’m sorry that she couldn’t hang on until today. Your esteem for her and your regard for her really penetrated her heart and it was your affection for her that did keep her going in these last years.”

The Judds were inducted into the Hall of Fame by fellow Kentuckian Ricky Skaggs. The ceremony also paid tribute to The Judds with performances from Carly PearceTommy Simms, and Gillian Welch and David Rawlings. (Taste of Country)
