BRIDGE TO BE NAMED IN HONOR OF CAS TAYLOR

At the request of several citizens, the Cumberland Mayor and City Council will name the Baltimore Street Bridge in honor of former Speaker of the House of Delegates, Cas Taylor. A ceremony is planned for the afternoon of Saturday, May 21st. The residents-Ed Mullaney, Al Feldstein, Jim Stafford and Becky McClarran-made the request at the beginning of February. Former Speaker Taylor has had a hand in several projects, including Interstate 68 improvements, Canal Place, the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, and Allegany Museum. The dedication ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. on the 21st.
