Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has announced the COVIDReady Maryland plan. He says the plan maximizes available tools to prevent severe illness and keep people out of the hospital and it maintains readiness to respond to new variants and surges. The plan features expanded test-to-treat infrastructure so patients can be tested, evaluated and treated during the same visit. There will also be an effort to increase the use of therapeutics and encourage booster shots. The governor says there will be enhanced outreach and a new portal that will allow residents to check their vaccination status and find nearby clinics.
