Allegany County’s COVID-19 Community Level is now categorized as “low,” with 197 new cases reported this week. There have been zero additional deaths. The positivity rate is the same as the state’s at 8.01 per cent, but the cases are nearly half that of the state of Maryland. Testing, vaccinations, and treatment are available locally through primary care providers, pharmacies and other healthcare facilities. Testing is being offered today at the Allegany County Fairgrounds from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., even though the Health Department Offices are closed in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
