AIRPORT RECEIVES RUNWAY FUNDING

The Greater Cumberland Regional Airport has received $1.15 million in federal funding to continue its runway upgrade project. The funding was announced by U.S. Senators Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen and U.S. Representative David Trone. The airport received over $257,000 last December, as part of the American Rescue Plan. The project, which will increase runway safety, and designing other areas of the airport infrastructure, will take another five years or so to complete.
