Allegany County has received over $1.8 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan for 12 projects in the area, which will accelerate the county’s business community recovery. The money will also be used to support redevelopment of the downtown cores of Cumberland and Frostburg, as well as main streets across Allegany County. The “Invest Allegany” program will benefit several buildings in the county, including the Au Petit building in Frostburg, the McMullen Building in Cumberland, the M & T Bank Building, formerly the Rosenbaum Building, and Fore Axes Garage Bar in Cumberland. Over 40 projects applied for the “Invest Allegany” program.
