Twenty-nine-year-old Allen Jerome O’Brein is being charged with assault, theft, burglary, and several other counts, following an incident on King Street in South Cumberland on Wednesday. O’Brein allegedly assaulted an adult and child and fled the scene. Prior to a foot pursuit, he also allegedly entered a business in the 800-block of Lafayette Avenue and went behind the counter to steal property. He was eventually arrested, and received a District Court hearing. He was later remanded, without bond, to the Allegany County Detention Center.
