CUMBERLAND STREET BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION PLANNED

The Cumberland Street Bridge project could get underway next summer at a price tag of about $3 million. The bridge has been closed for about five years after failing a safety inspection. Construction has been delayed by several factors, including the coronavirus pandemic and supply chain bottlenecks. The Cumberland Street bridge is one of three on West Side that are in need of repair; along with Cumberland Street, the Washington Street bridge is closed. The Fayette Street bridge is open to one lane of traffic.
