CSX faces more than 121-thousand-dollars in penalties for the December 30 explosion at its coal facility in Curtis Bay. The Baltimore Sun reports the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited CSX for violations including inadequate emergency planning and allowing workers to enter hazardous tunnels without respirators. CSX says it’s committed to ensuring the health and safety of employees and neighboring communities and it will discuss the alleged violations with OSHA. No one was injured in the blast and the cause is under investigation.
