The typical eleven-day turnpike busy season was not quite as busy this year. Between June 30th and July 10th is when the West Virginia Parkways Authority will see the most transactions in the summer. This year, the numbers were down a bit. This year was expected to be extra busy because the 4th of July fell on a Monday. But even in a down year, more than one-point-three million vehicles traveled a portion of the 88-mile West Virginia Turnpike.
