COVID COMMUNITY LEVEL CLASSIFIED AS “LOW”

The Allegany County COVID-19 Community Level, as of Thursday, has been classified as “low” by the Centers for Disease Control. There have been 108 new COVID cases, and two deaths, attributed to the virus. The percentage of Allegany County residents who have been fully vaccinated is at 56.2 per cent. The positivity rate is below that of the state of Maryland at 7.89 per cent. The state percentage has been set at 9.31 per cent. Free drive-thru testing continues at the Allegany County Fairgrounds, and COVID vaccinations are available at the Health Department offices on Willowbrook Road each Wednesday. Pre-registration is preferred for both testing and vaccinations.
