You can add the name of former Bridgeport resident Laura Goodwin to the list of people who have swum across the English Channel. Goodwin swam the 21 mile stretch in 10 hours, and 44 minutes. She only stopped for chocolate milk break while treading water, and despite being stung by jellyfish four or five times, was able to complete her lifelong goal.
