WV JUDGE TEMPORARILY BLOCKS LAW PREVENTING ABORTION

West Virginia’s only abortion clinic can resume services after a judge temporarily blocked officials from enforcing a 19th century ban on abortions.  A Kanawha County circuit court judge on Monday granted the Women’s Health Center of West Virginia a preliminary injunction against the law that makes performing or obtaining an abortion a felony.  Abortion services were suspended following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.  Republican state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey plans to appeal the injunction to the state’s highest court.
