MAN TAKEN TO UPMC FOR MENTAL EVALUATION

A man, who was not identified, was taken into custody without incident on Tuesday, after he was seen with an ax, and had been yelling at people on East Main Street in Frostburg. Police received several reports. The man was found, walking on the sidewalk near Grant Street, and complied with orders to surrender his weapons, which also included a dagger and a knife clipped to his pocket. He was taken to UPMC-Western Maryland for an emergency evaluation of his mental condition. The incident is being reviewed by the State’s Attorney’s Office for potential further action.
