COUNTY CLASSIFIED AS HAVING “MEDIUM” COVID COMMUNITY LEVEL

Allegany County, along with ten other Maryland jurisdictions, is now classified by the CDC as having a “medium” COVID community level. High COVID community levels are reported in Garrett and Howard counties. Eleven remain in the “low” classification. As of late last week, there are 123 new COVID cases, and one additional death. The positivity rate has now risen above the state’s, at 11.89 per cent; Maryland is reporting 10.47 per cent. The percentage of residents who have been fully vaccinated is at 56.3 per cent. Vaccinations continue on Wednesdays at the Allegany County Health Department, with testing taking place at the Allegany County Fairgrounds on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
