Those key partners needed to make the Potomac River Park project happen, remain on board. The Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority described plans for the park, which includes a moderate whitewater course on the river behind Canal Place. The park would also include docks with canoes and kayaks, walking trails and a viewing area. One of the key players in the project is Water and Land Solutions of North Carolina, which would oversee removal of the dam beneath the Blue Bridge, to allow unencumbered navigation on the waterway, according to the Cumberland Times-News.
