WOLF PUTS $40 MILLION IN STIMULUS FUNDS TOWARD UNIVERSITIES

Governor Tom Wolf plans to give Pennsylvania’s four state-related universities a one-time, 40-million-dollar boost from stimulus money.  The move follows state House conservatives’ attempts to unsuccessfully block funding for the schools because of Pitt’s research using fetal tissue.  A budget summary released by state democrats shows the governor will use stimulus money for the five-percent hike.
