ALLEGANY COUNTY ELEVATED TO “HIGH” COVID LEVEL

With 230 new COVID cases identified this week in Allegany County, the Centers for Disease Control have placed it in the “high” category. There are only five counties in Maryland at the “low” level, with the majority of others in the medium classification. The local positivity rate is at 17.33 per cent, with the state average at 10.52 per cent. The percentage of those fully vaccinated is 56.3 per cent. There have been no additional deaths this week. Testing continues at the Allegany County Fairgrounds on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with vaccination clinics on Wednesdays at the Allegany County Health Department on Wednesdays.
