Baltimore resident Breion Akeem Vanzandt was arrested in the Barton area yesterday afternoon, and he now faces multiple drug charges. An off-duty deputy sheriff saw his vehicle operating recklessly and at a high rate of speed; a traffic stop and probable cause search yielded a large amount of suspected fentanyl and marijuana. Packaging materials were also found, indicating an intent to distribute. Deputies determined that the suspected fentanyl was to be delivered in Westernport. Vanzandt was held at the Allegany County Detention Center, pending an initial appearance.
