TRI-STATE ZOOLOGICAL PARK TO CLOSE IN OCTOBER

After considering it for a year, the owner of the Tri-State Zoological Park, Bob Candy, has decided to “close up shop” on October 2nd. The zoo opened in June of 2003. There are about 15 to 20 animals that will be moving in the coming days. Over the last couple of years, Candy and the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have been involved in legal battles. As part of an agreement between them, the rescue animals will be going back to their owners by next week. PETA will take animals owned by the zoo and move them to facilities across the country by the end of October. The agreement absolves Candy of the outcomes of the previous lawsuits.
