Kevin Snider Jr. is being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center, following an incident last Friday in the first block of Grand Avenue. Units from the Cumberland Police Department and Fire Department responded to a medical emergency there. Snider became combative with emergency services personnel and allegedly struck one of them with a closed fist. When police responded, Snider grabbed an officer’s gun and attempted to remove it from its holster. He was forced to release the weapon, and was taken to UPMC-Western Maryland for evaluation. Charges were filed, and Snider received a District Court hearing.
