Republican nominee for Maryland governor Dan Cox won’t be getting an endorsement from the state Senate’s top GOP leader. Instead, Senate Minority leader Bryan Simonaire says he and the GOP caucus are focusing on electing more Republicans to the chamber. Cox has the backing of former President Trump and will face Democrat Wes Moore in the November election. Maryland Republican Governor Larry Hogan has called Cox a “Q-Anon whack job” and says he has no chance of being elected governor in heavily Democratic Maryland.
