Effective October 1st, the state of Pennsylvania will be providing free morning meals for both public- and private-school students. Authorities say the program is designed to provide meals for all students, not just those living at or below a particular family-income threshold. During yesterday’s announcement at a Dauphin County school, Governor Tom Wolf, noting that the program’s all-inclusive nature eliminates any potential social stigma associated with the free meal. Officials say the program is fully funded through the end of the 2022-2023 school year.
