CANDIDATES FOR GOVERNOR SPEAK TO MARYLAND FAMILY NETWORK

The candidates for Maryland governor took part in a virtual forum Wednesday hosted by the Maryland Family Network.  Republican Dan Cox and Democrat Wes Moore spoke separately on childcare, early education and family support. Moore said as governor he would fully implement the paid family and medical leave program which begins in 2025. Cox voted against the bill during the General Assembly session but according to the Baltimore Sun, he said he would offer tax credits to businesses so they don’t have to pay for an “unfunded mandate.” The candidates will take part in a televised debate on October 12.
