MDOT AWARDED TRANSIT INNOVATION GRANTS

The Maryland Department of Transportation has been awarded more than 950-thousand-dollars in Transit Innovation Grants for Baltimore, Salisbury, Howard and Montgomery counties.  The funding will be used to improve transit access, reliability and safety.  Baltimore will use 136-thousand-dollars for curb and sidewalk extensions that allow buses to stop and board passengers without leaving the driving lane.  Howard County will use 500-thousand-dollars to start up and operate a micro-transit pilot project for ADA-accessible vehicles along the Route 1 corridor.
