A judge has overturned the murder conviction of Adnan Syed . His case first caught the public’s attention after it was featured on the true-crime podcast “Serial.” The decision comes as prosecutors say they had doubts about Syed’s conviction, especially as a year-long investigation turned up other possible suspects. A Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge also ordered him to be released from prison. Syed was first arrested in 1999 as a 17-year-old high school student for the murder of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee. He was later sentenced to life in prison in 2000 and had since been trying to get a new trial to prove his innocence.
