North Mechanic Street in Cumberland, from Eutaw Place to Queen City Drive, will be closed today through Friday, to allow the contractor to repair a collapsed 18-inch sewer main. The road will be closed the entire time, to allow the sewer flows to be pumped around the construction site. Additional information will be released in the event the closure needs to be expanded or if more time is needed to replace the main. Residents are advised to avoid the area as much as possible during the time to allow the work to be completed safely and successfully.
