MARYLAND EXPANDS ELIGIBILITY FOR MONKEYPOX VACCINE

More people are now eligible to receive the monkeypox vaccine in Maryland.  The state health department announced eligibility is being expanded to include anyone who is at high risk of infection.  The vaccine was previously recommended only for people who had been potentially exposed to the virus in the prior two weeks.  As of last week, Maryland had confirmed 609 monkeypox cases.  The state has received more than 14-thousand vials of the monkeypox vaccine, with over 52-hundred people receiving the shots so far.
