MARYLAND PREPARED TO HELP IF NEEDED FOLLOWING HURRICANE IAN

Hurricane Ian slammed Florida’s West Coast yesterday, and according to the National Hurricane Center it’s expected to bring a life-threatening storm surge, catastrophic winds and flooding.  Governor Larry Hogan says state emergency officials are monitoring the storm and the emergency management team is prepared to coordinate a response and help if needed.  The Maryland Department of Emergency Management reminds residents that hurricane season lasts until November 30 and this is a good time to prepare for a storm by checking the MDEM website.
