Preston County residents Laura Lynn Martin and Robert Joseph Quinn, after entering guilty pleas to first degree murder and robbery in July, were sentenced yesterday. Both were sentenced to life in prison with a chance for parole in 15 years on the murder conviction, and 180 years for the robbery charge, with the sentences to run consecutively. The murder happened in 2019. The victim, Phillip “Buckie” Barlow, was found near the Fortney’s Mill area. An autopsy determined he died of a deep throat laceration.
