CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT SEEKING NEWER VEHICLES

Cumberland Fire Chief Shannon Adams says his department needs two new vehicles, because current ones have aged beyond recommended guidelines. The Chief says a new engine and an equipment transport vehicle are both needed. The request was made at last week’s Cumberland Mayor and City Council meeting. A new engine and rescue truck could run upwards of $650,000 to $700,000 each. City Administrator Jeff Silka says there are several ways the city could purchase the needed vehicles.
