SYED IN LINE FOR MILLIONS AFTER MURDER CASE DROPPED

Adnan Syed could be in line for more than two-million dollars in compensation for the time he spent in prison for the murder of his ex-girlfriend.  The Baltimore Sun reports if Syed is formally declared innocent, he would also be entitled to five years of health care, housing and free tuition.  This, after Baltimore prosecutors announced Tuesday that murder charges are being dropped against Syed for the 1999 killing of his former girlfriend Hae Min Lee.  The state’s attorney’s office said the decision to dismiss the case is based on new DNA tests that excluded Syed as a suspect.  Syed’s story gained national attention through the popular “Serial” podcast.
