Governor Larry Hogan has announced an investment of $77 million for the realignment and upgrades of the Maryland section of Route 219 in Garrett County. The plan advances the Governor’s pledge to address Maryland’s portion of the U.S. 219 corridor, between Interstate 68 and Meyersdale, Pennsylvania, to improve safety, expand economic opportunity, and to reinforce the regional supply chain. Governor Hogan also officially dedicated the portion of Route 219 in Maryland to retiring State Senator George Edwards, citing his staunch support for improvements that benefit the region. Highway signs dedicating the roadway to Senator Edwards were unveiled yesterday afternoon at the Grantsville Plaza.
