The Republican running for Maryland governor is seen shaking hands with a member of the far-right Proud Boys. The Washington Post pulled primary night video of Dan Cox showing him accepting a comb from a man in a Proud Boys shirt who says it’s a gift from the group. In a statement, Cox says it was hard to hear what was being said in the noise of the celebration and he didn’t keep the comb. Cox attended the January 6 rally outside of the U.S. Capitol but says he has no affiliation with anyone involved in the violence at the Capitol. Former President Donald Trump has endorsed Cox, who just attended a fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago. Cox has expressed doubts about the results of the 2020 election.
