MARYLAND WORKS TO IMPROVE RESPONSE TO WEATHER-RELATED DISASTERS

The state is partnering with the University of Maryland to help improve the response to weather-related disasters.  Governor Larry Hogan announced the new Maryland Mesonet project on Monday.  Part of the deal includes the construction of 75 weather-observing towers across the state that’ll provide around the clock data for community monitoring purposes.  Hogan said that Maryland set aside four-million-dollars for the project.
