Maryland Attorney General Brian Frosh has filed a motion criticizing Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby’s actions in the Adnan Syed case. Mosby dropped all charges against Syed who spent decades in prison for the 1999 killing of his ex-girlfriend Hae Min Lee. Frosh says the Lee family was appealing a decision to vacate Syed’s sentence when the charges were dropped, and the Court of Special Appeals denied their request for a hearing. Mosby claims the AG’s Office withheld evidence in Syed’s case that should have been disclosed. Frosh denies the allegations and questions how Syed’s release was handled.
