Typically, after Labor Day there are fewer cars traveling along the West Virginia Turnpike. However, this year the volume is actually up by four percent over this time last year. This time of year, the Parkways Authority uses this down time to perform maintenance before the snow begins to fall, which is causing some delays in spots with the extra traffic.
